Explaining BDI agent behaviour through dialogue

چکیده
Abstract BDI agents act in response to external inputs and their internal plan library. Understanding the root cause of agent action is often difficult, this paper we present a dialogue based approach for explaining behaviour agent. We consider two participants who may have different views regarding beliefs, plans events which drove (encoded via traces). These make utterances incrementally reveal traces each other, allowing them identify divergences traces, or conclude that agree. In practice, envision human taking on role participant, with itself acting as other participant. The then facilitates explanation, understanding debugging behaviour. After presenting our formalism its properties, describe implementation system provide an example use simple scenario.

Agent Capabilities: Extending BDI Theory
Intentional agent systems are increasingly being used in a wide range of complex applications. Capabilities has recently been introduced into one of these systems as a software engineering mechanism to support modularity and reusability while still allowing meta-level reasoning. This paper presents a formalisation of capabilities within the framework of beliefs, goals and intentions and indicat...
متن کاملPredicting Responsiveness of BDI Agent
A performance mark of a BDI agent is how fast it can react to and process incoming event sequences. To the best of our knowledge, few papers have been published about predicting an agent’s average response time for an event sequence before the agent is applied in a real project. In this paper, we first introduce a simulation method. In simulation, a sequence of events with attributes, such as p...
متن کاملA BDI dialogue agent for social support: specification of verbal support types
An important task for empathic agents is to provide social support, that is, to help alleviate emotional distress. In this paper, we select five types of verbal social support (sympathy, compliment, encouragement, advice, and teaching) and present our implementation in a prototype dialogue agent.
متن کاملClassifying Agent Behaviour through Relational Sequential Patterns
In Multi-Agent System, observing other agents and modelling their behaviour represents an essential task: agents must be able to quickly adapt to the environment and infer knowledge from other agents’ deportment. The observed data from this kind of environments are inherently sequential. We present a relational model to characterise adversary teams based on its behaviour using a set of relation...
متن کاملModelling Internal Dynamic Behaviour of BDI Agents
A generic model for the internal dynamic behaviour of BDI agents is proposed. This model, a refinement of a generic agent model, explicitly specifies beliefs and motivational attitudes such as desires, goals, intentions, commitments, and plans, and their relations. A formal meta-language is used to represent beliefs, motivational attitudes and strategies. Dynamic aspects of reasoning about and ...
